Introduction to the Emerald Tablets

Introduction To The Emerald Tablets

Another section of the mysterious schools of knowledge hidden to common man would be that of the Hermetic knowledge contained within the Emerald Tablets. There supposed creator Thoth inscribed into them the knowledge with which to transform any object into another. In essence they were a formula for the creation of the philosophers stone as well as the transformation necessary to achieve immortality. The translation from Isaac Newton provides this glimpse into the structuring and intent behind the inscription upon the tablet.
  • Tis true without lying, certain & most true.
  • That which is below is like that which is above & that which is above is like that which is below to do the miracles of one only thing
  • And as all things have been & arose from one by the mediation of one: so all things have their birth from this one thing by adaptation.
  • The Sun is its father, the moon its mother, the wind hath carried it in its belly, the earth is its nurse.
  • The father of all perfection in the whole world is here.
  • Its force or power is entire if it be converted into earth.
  • Separate thou the earth from the fire, the subtle from the gross sweetly with great industry.
  • It ascends from the earth to the heaven & again it descends to the earth & receives the force of things superior & inferior.
  • By this means you shall have the glory of the whole world
  • & thereby all obscurity shall fly from you.
  • Its force is above all force. For it vanquishes every subtle thing & penetrates every solid thing.
  • So was the world created.
  • From this are & do come admirable adaptations whereof the means (or process) is here in this. Hence I am called Hermes Trismegist, having the three parts of the philosophy of the whole world
  • That which I have said of the operation of the Sun is accomplished & ended.
Newton was very deeply immersed in alchemy although this is not something that is touched upon in mainstream education. Sources of this as well as his research into alchemy can be accessed all throughout the net. Hidden within this simple inscription lie the potential to awaken powerful transformation upon matter. With this knowledge it would be possible to transform the gross dense elements of lead into the strong purified glory of gold in a symbolic as well as material sense to the one who had obtained the philosophers stone. Let it be stressed and remembered that alchemist were very guarded of there works and did not want them to fall into the wrong hands. So they often hide there discoveries in the forms of riddles, poetry, stories, and drawings. Things would be written in a gross sense to dissuade someone who would read the sentence for what it was. Those possessing inner light of "knowledge" could discern the hidden meaning and intent behind the sentences  and drawings and absorb the contained hidden knowledge of light for themselves. Through this process it was possible through sound in the form of language, drawings, and written word it was possible to bring about great inner transformations in an awakening individual. The body acts as a vessel for the consciousness which would be akin to the glass that holds its contents such as water. Our being which is this primordial water absorbs and tinges to different frequencies of events and experiences we've had in our lives. Once we gain enough light  or heat from knowledge and experience we can evaporate ourselves out of the container of the physical body and experience the spirit as we rise no longer confined to a material container. We are in a sense growing and transmuting the lower aspects and elements of ourselves in a refined version equivalent to the process of creating a diamond. Turning the simple base carbon into the hardest substance known to man resistant to all external influences and subjection. You have revealed carbons hidden true potential. The seeds of the diamond lie in wait just like a seed to tree contain the whole tree. It already is the whole tree it is a matter of becoming and unveiling and unleashing the hidden treasure that is hidden within.
